JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Balling - Machine Operator (Textile) is expected to perform include:

• Tending machine that winds thread, twine or yarn into balls preparatory to shipping or further processing

• Placing supply cones or spools on creel rack and threading yarn ends through guides and tension device

• Pushing core over spindle of machine or wrapping end of thread around shaping device of coreless winder

• Doffing balls of thread, using knife to cut thread

• Inspecting balls for defective winding or soiled thread

• Inserting labels under thread

• Placing ball on device to crush centre and wrapping end of thread around centre as binder

• Packing balls into boxes for shipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

• It is not a desk job

• Need not handle a team

• Local travelling is not a part of this job role

• Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available

• Work from home option is not available

Working hours

• Companies usually work for 6/7 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

• Shift system maybe available
