JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks an Assembler, Textile Machinery is expected to perform include:
Assembling textile machines from finished components 
Studying drawings and collecting details of assembly to be made
Collecting or gathering frame, structure parts, sub-assemblies, etc. from stores or nearby fixed points
Erecting side frames and fitting cross frames and other joints
Assembling various other machine parts of components to main frame, if necessary, by further tooling, using nuts, bolts, rivets, etc. in order of sequence
Ensuring that stage assembly is accurate and conforming to prescribed standards
Fitting up assembly parts like gear wheels, bottom rails, shaft assembly, etc. as detailed
Ensuring that parts assembled are set to proper level
Finishing or smoothening surfaces by scraping, filing, chiselling or even welding
Making punch marks or marking symbols on different assembled parts for assembly of machine at site of factory
Testing performance of assembled machine by manipulating levers, gears, etc. to ensure accurate and prescribed performance
Dismantling assembled machine for packing according to markings
Erecting machine at premises or factory
Overhauling and repairing textile machinery
Providing electrical or power supply to machine
Working on sub-assembly line and assembling sub-units or parts on work bench
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1
It is not a desk job
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available
Work from home option is not available
Working hours
Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 4

Minimum – ITI graduate degree

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
Knowledge of operating the textile machinery 
Skilled in studying blueprints and drawings in order to assemble the machinery efficiently
Knowledge of all the parts of the textile machinery, such as gear wheels, bottom rails, shafts, etc.
Proficiency in testing the development of the assembly process after regular intervals
Knowledge of the appropriate model to be followed for the process
Skilled in testing the machine when the assembling is complete
Knowledge of making any changes/alterations in the machine
