JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Braker, Passenger Train is expected to perform include:
  • Inspecting equipment such as couplings, air hoses, journal boxes and hand brakes to ensure that they function properly
  • Assisting passengers in boarding and exiting the train
  • Placing passenger's baggage in the rack above the seats on the train
  • Answering questions from passengers concerning train rules, station and timetable information
  • Regulating the air-conditioning, heating and lighting on the train for the comfort of the passengers
  • Setting warning signals such as flares, flags, lanterns or railway detonators in front of and at the rear of the train during emergency stops to warn oncoming trains

  • Working hours are 8 hours everyday for 6 days a week

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 12

Minimum - 10th pass or ITI graduate

  • Well-versed in train rules, station and timetable information
  • Proficient in setting warning signals such as flares, flags, lanterns or railway detonators when needed
