JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Oarsman is expected to perform include:

Rowing boats, barges and other water-crafts using oars, sweeps, etc. individually and in groups
Fixing oars in braces on sides of boat
Taking position in boat
Pulling oars by hand to propel boat
Stopping the pulling of oars at destination or when asked by Boatman
