JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Dry Cleaner, Hand is expected to perform include:

• Cleaning by hand, woollen and silken garments, textile furnishings and similar articles using chemical solution or other dry cleaning solvents

• Examining garments or articles to ascertain condition and type of material and deciding on type of treatment to be given

• Laying article on table, treating with chemical solution and rubbing or brushing parts post soiled

• Immersing article in solution for required period

• Rinsing article in fresh solution and allowing it to dry in open air

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

• It is not a desk job

• Need not handle a team

• Local travelling is not a part of this job role

• Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available

• Work from home option is not available

Working hours

• Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

• Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ⁴

Minimum – Any Graduate

Skilled in effectively cleaning the cloth without hampering its quality or losing its colour
Knowledge of all the latest dry cleaning techniques
Knowledge of amount of chemical solution needed to clean the cloth
Knowledge of all various methods and techniques used in dry cleaning processes
Skilled in rubbing and brushing techniques
Physically fit
