JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Porter, Baggage (Hotel & Restaurant)is expected to perform include:
  • Delivering the luggage to and from hotel rooms
  • Setting up sample rooms for sales personnel 
  • Performing the related services as requested by guest
  • Transferring trunks, packages and other baggage to room or the loading area by making use of hand pulled trolley
  • Arranging for outgoing freight, express or mail shipments, computes charges and tags article
  • Recording information, such as addressee, addressor, carrier and charges on the specified forms
  • Setting up display tables, racks or shelves
  • Assisting the sales personnel in unpacking and arranging merchandise display
  • Supplying the guests with travel information, such as transportation rates, routes and schedules
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Individual usually works for 5/6 days a week and 10/12 hours everyday. The organization or institution remains open and functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week
