JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Technologist, Rubber is expected to perform include:
Developing production processes for manufacture of rubber products 
Analysing physical and chemical properties of raw materials 
Conducting various test to determine new formulae of production processes
Testing rubber product at each process of production to ensure conformity to specifications
Developing new rubber compounds and processes
Ensuring production of rubber products is as per desired standards
Designing new machinery or equipment or modify existing ones, if required
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
It needs one to be on their toes
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job
Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available in some cities
Work from home option is not available
Working hours
Working hours are 8/10 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from company to company
Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 5

Minimum – B.E/B.Tech in Rubber Technology

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
Well-versed with the production process of rubber products like tyres, tubes, sports goods, rubber gloves, hot bags, etc.
Ability to analyse the physical and chemical properties such as crude rubber, zinc oxide, acids, antioxidants, oils, softeners, colour pigments, etc.
Proficient in evolving formulae for mixing raw materials in different proportions for manufacturing different various domestic and industrial rubber products
Adept in conducting various tests in laboratory by mixing various chemicals with rubber compounds and studying their properties
Well-versed in testing rubber product at each process of production to ensure conformity to prescribed standards and improvement in quality
Knowledge of developing new rubber compounds and processes
Adept in examining finished products for quality, tensile strength, and hardness etc. using different machines
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1

Knowledge of designing new machinery or equipment or make improvement in existing ones
