JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Stores Distributor is expected to perform include:

Receiving material from godown for delivery to indenters and receiving returnable stores from consumers and returning them to godown
Receiving equipment, apparatus, tools, raw materials and other items of store, etc. from godown for delivery to consumers and checking each item with voucher entries
Issuing to consumers indented articles of stores after counting or weighing each item
Collecting from sections or authorised workers, store items such as tools, plant or other equipment for reconditioning, replacement or deposit in stores
Making out lists of items received and delivering them to Store Keeper against acknowledgement
Maintaining prescribed records indicating nature of materials received and issued
Sending periodical reports to superiors

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

It is not a desk job
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ³

Minimum – B.B.A (Management) or B.Com

Skilled in maintaining record of items received and sent
Knowledge of logistics management
Skilled in preparing and sending periodic statements to superiors
