JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks an Abrasive-Coated Cloth and Paper Maker is expected to perform include:

  • Drawing end of paper or cloth roll through guide rollers of machine for feeding it with material
  • Checking and ensuring that glue container and abrasive grain hopper of machine are full with glue and abrasive material
  • Starting machine and ensuring drawing of paper/cloth through rollers and application of glue on its desired face proceeds correctly
  • Observing the passing of glued paper/cloth through series of rollers over electric grain chamber where grain is sprayed to glue portion of paper/cloth by electro-magnetic device
  • Opening the glue tap as necessary to maintain steady supply of glue in glue container
  • Resetting the roll gaps as necessary for even tension of paper/cloth drawn
  • Ensuring that the abrasive coated roll passes into drying chamber for onward transmission to sizing machine
  • Replacing the empty spool or beam of paper or cloth roll with filled ones to maintain continuous supply
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • It requires one to be on their toes
  • Need to handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Factories usually work for 5/6 days a week for 9/10 hours everyday. This may vary from factory to factory
  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 

+2/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

  • Knowledge of operating machine and cleaning it 
  • Ability to supervise work of helpers
  • Ability to analyze irregular functioning of machine and report to superiors for removal of defects
