JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Hydro Extractor Operator is expected to perform include:

  • Operating centrifuge machine that separates solids from liquids or liquids of different specific gravity
  • Filling drum of machine with liquid material
  • Starting machine and adjusting drum speed to obtain efficient separation of substances
  • Emptying containers when separation is completed
  • Fixing and cleaning filtering media in machine, operating heating attachment on machine and testing samples for moisture content​

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

Preferably, diploma in chemical engineering

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of controls to regulate flow of material through lines and tanks
  • Ability to disassemble centrifuge and pump
  • Proficient in using hand tools and cleaning equipment with solvents
  • Well-versed with operating, maintaining and repairing the centrifuge and all support systems
  • Knowledge of performing mechanical adjustments to ensure equipment functioning at optimal levels
