JOB DESCRIPTION 1

​The tasks a Cord Dipping Operator is expected to perform include:

  • Operating a machine to prepare rubberized fabric by passing fabric through solution of latex and other chemicals and drying it over pre-heated drums
  • Placing roll of material on machine feeder
  • Threading end of roll through machine rollers and affixing it to winder at finishing end
  • Ensuring that chamber of machine is filled with required quantity of latex solution, chemicals, etc. for treatment of fabric
  • Regulating temperature of drying drum
  • Observing coating of fabric with rubber solution on one or both sides
  • Testing thickness of product with a gauze
  • Supervising helpers who load and unload material from machine

  • Proficient in adjusting tension of fabric
  • Knowledge of latex and its properties
  • Proficient in removing solution coated dried roll of fabric from winder
  • Knowledge of different chemicals
  • Well-versed with starting machine and adjusting tension of fabric and pressure of rollers
  • Knowledge of oiling machine and bearings
  • Well-versed with effect of short length or width of dipped fabric on productivity
  • Knowledge of potential problems in the dipping operations
