JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks an Assistant Electrician is expected to perform include: 
  • Assisting Level-4 Electrician or senior officer in electrical work for the installation, repair and maintenance of temporary LV electrical connections at the construction sites and permanent connections at residential and commercial buildings
  • Laying conduits for LV single phase wiring with appropriate selection and using handheld and power tools efficiently

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – 10th Class
  • Certified training for Assistant Electrician (programme aligned to CON/Q0602 job released by Construction Skill Development Council)
 
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting single line diagram (SLD) and schematics, wiring diagrams of electrical connections
  • Skilled in interpreting manufacturer’s guidelines/specifications for use of hand and power tools and measuring devices 
  • Knowledge of using electrical measuring/diagnostic devices to undertake required tests to install and maintain electrical circuits 
  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC currents and circuits
  • Knowledge of types of wires, cables based on their insulation and their respective uses in LV electrical works
 
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1

Training for 12 to 16 weeks to qualify test & assessment by authorized agency for behaviour, knowledge & skill as per all relevant NOS for Assistant Electrician Level‐3
