The tasks a Junior Mechanic (Engine) is expected to perform include: 
  • Providing assistance to Mechanic (Engine) in breakdown repair and preventive maintenance in issues related to engines of the equipment
  • Maintaining the work area, tools, and machines to support the operations
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1
  • It is not a desk job

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Preferably Class VIII
  • Certified training for Junior Mechanic (Engine) (programme aligned to IES/Q1102 job released by Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of techniques used to diagnose the faults through visual inspection
  • Skilled in using various hand tools (such as spanners, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, etc.)
  • Skilled in assembling the various components of an engine
  • Knowledge of techniques to clean/service different parts of the engine
