JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Consignment Booking Assistant is expected to perform include:

Receiving customer order details, checking market prices, availability, etc. and making bookings with transport companies to pick up the consignment
Going to the client location, checking the goods, preparing the Lorry Receipt (LR), updating the information in the computer system and billing

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

Need not handle a team
Local travelling maybe a part of this job profile
Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Working hours are 8/9 hours a day for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from organization to organization

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Minimum – Class XII
Certified training for Consignment Booking Assistant (programme aligned to LSC/Q1120 job released by Logistics Skill Council)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of processes involved in inbound and outbound transport
Knowledge of details required while booking a customer order
Knowledge of distances to different destination
Ability to use the computer for electronic documentation of information
Knowledge of possible difficulties in booking customer orders
