The tasks an Autoclave Operator – Reclaim Rubber is expected to perform include:

  • Preparing autoclave unit
  • Performing curing operation to reclaim rubber using the autoclave unit
  • Performing post-curing activities​
  • Carrying out housekeeping, reporting, documentation, quality checks, problem identification and escalation​

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1

  • Certified training for Autoclave Operator – Reclaim Rubber (programme aligned to RSC/Q2101 released by Rubber Industry Sector Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficiency in operating autoclave unit and using equipment such as trolleys, mandrels, etc.
  • Well-versed with setting parameters for the equipment and safety valves at the correct pressure
  • Knowledge of checking unvulcanised raw materials for appropriateness
  • Well-versed with the different types of defects leading to rejections and their indicators, reasons and possible solutions​
