JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Bicycle/Rickshaw Tyre Building Operator – TBM is expected to perform include:

  • Preparing building machine and collecting components
  • Building bicycle/rickshaw TBM tyre by placing beads on grooves on either side of the chuck
  • Applying ply spirally over the bead rings at specific bias angles to ensure that the beads are well covered and the ends stitched
  • Applying stitchers and appropriate pressure for stitching of treads with ply/plies
  • Performing post-tyre building activities
  • Carrying out housekeeping, reporting, documentation and quality checks​

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 10th/ITI graduate ​
  • Certified training for Bicycle/Rickshaw Tyre Building Operator  TBM (programme aligned to RSC/Q0502 released by Rubber Industry Sector Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficiency in processing with building machine and various components of TBM tyre building
  • Well-versed with collecting all the components required to build bicycle/rickshaw green tyre
  • Knowledge of proper handling of building chucks
  • Well-versed with setting the widths and selection of bead rings, stitcher pressure, etc.
  • Knowledge of sequential application of components such as beads, ply and tread
  • Knowledge of the types of defects leading to rejections and their indicators, reasons and possible solutions
