JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Bladder Curing Operator is expected to perform include: 
  • Following the curing process as per instructions 
  • Inspecting the green bladder slugs and fine tuning the cut length of bladder slug to get the specified weight of the bladders after curing 
  • Placing the bladder slugs in the heating oven to warm them up and facilitate moulding
  • Ensuring that the temperature settings of the oven are as per the technical guidelines 
  • Placing the warm bladder slug on the bottom half of the mould surrounding the core 
  • Facilitating the initial flow, and then applying specified pressure and closing the press 
  • Starting auto timer and pulling the bladder out of the mould once the curing is over 
  • Trimming the centre line flash
  • Cutting one bladder and checking the gauges from bead to bead
  • Carrying out housekeeping, reporting, documentation, and quality checks
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1
  • It needs one to be on their toes
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
 
Working hours
  • Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from factory to factory
  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Class X/ITI
  • Certified training for Bladder Curing Operator (programme aligned to RSC/Q0204 released by Rubber Industry Sector Skill Council)
 
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficiency in preparing the curing system
  • Well-versed with handling components of bladder curing press and its operation
  • Knowledge of working dynamics of bladder mould and centre core
  • Knowledge of compatible and non-compatible polymers
  • Knowledge of defects in tyres leading to rejections and their indicators, reasons and possible solutions
