JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Building Operator: Footwear is expected to perform include: 
  • Preparing the machine and rubber pieces according to given specifications
  • Setting the temperature of the press 
  • Opening mould with the help of a screwdriver and cleaning it properly/removing any cured stuck rubber flushes in any part of the mould
  • Inspecting the mould for any damage/cuts in the mould cavity
  • Placing rubber cut pieces uniformly in the mould
  • Monitoring the time of placement for rubber pieces
  • Performing post-building activities
  • Carrying out housekeeping, reporting, documentation, and quality checks
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1
  • It needs one to be on their toes
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
 
Working hours
  • Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from factory to factory
  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Class X/ITI
  • Certified training for Building Operator: Conveyor Belt (programme aligned to RSC/Q1202 released by Rubber Industry Sector Skill Council)
 
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficiency in the use of equipment such as scale, measuring tape, sticker and cutting tools
  • Well-versed with setting the parameters of ply loading on machine let off
  • Ability to properly stick ply and rubber inner liner
  • Knowledge of various types of defects in tyres leading to rejections and their indicators, reasons and possible solutions
