JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Calendering Supervisor is expected to perform include:

  • Supervising the preparatory activities for calendering 
  • Supervising the calendering operations related to gum or coating of reinforcement fabric/wire using straight/offset calenders, compound feeding equipment and auxiliary equipment in the calender train
  • Conducting post-calendering supervisory operations
  • Monitoring and managing the calendering area including machines, equipment, manpower and materials
  • Carrying out housekeeping, reporting, documentation and quality checks​

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 12th/diploma/ITI graduate/graduate in science
  • Certified training for Calendering Supervisor (programme aligned to RSC/Q0701 released by Rubber Skill Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of processing with different types of calenders
  • In-depth knowledge of calender train, its components and functioning
  • Knowledge of properties of rubber compounds
  • Well-versed with proper coated fabric/wire handling methods
  • Knowledge of latest digital equipment in use for setting different parameters
  • Knowledge of various types of defects leading to rejections and their indicators, reasons and possible solutions
