JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Finishing Operator (Tyre) is expected to perform include:

Conducting tyre finishing tasks such as trimming vents, removing flashes from bead area and tyre centreline of cured tyres, etc.
Inspecting for any defects in tyres
Holding back defective tyres for review committee’s disposition
Carrying out final finishing of approved tyres
Getting approved tyres ready for storage in warehouse

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

It needs one to be on their toes
Need not handle a team
Local travelling maybe a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available in some cities
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from factory to factory
Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Minimum – Class X/ITI
Certified training for Finishing Operator (Tyre) (programme aligned to RSC/Q1501 released by Rubber Skill Development Council)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of operating and maintaining tools such as buffers, knives, etc.
In-depth knowledge of the functioning of the trimming machine and selecting the right trimming machine
Adept at checking for various abnormalities in tyres and equipment performance

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Training in tyre finishing
