JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Compacting Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

Carrying out preparatory activities for operation of compacting machine
Operating compacting machine to complete shrinking and compacting of knitted fabric as per work order
Checking the quality of finished fabric
Carrying out cleaning and maintenance activities with regards to work area, tools and machines
Maintaining health, safety and security at workplace

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

It needs one to be on their toes
Need not handle a team
Local travelling maybe a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available in some cities
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Working hours are 8/9 hours everyday for 6/7 days a week. This may vary from company to company

KEY COMPETENCIES

Skilled in operating the compacting machine
Skilled in operating various valves and traps in the machine
Skilled in operating different material handling tools and equipment
Skilled in checking the quality of processed fabric
Ability to maintain cleanliness at work place

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES

Training in textile processing for 3-6 months
