JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Package Dyeing Machine Operator is expected to perform include:

  • Operating the package dyeing machine
  • Carrying out scouring, bleaching and dyeing of fibre or yarn using a package dyeing machine as specified under the job order
  • Checking the quality of dyed/bleached yarn/fibre
  • Carrying out cleaning and maintenance activities with regards to work area, tools and machines
  • Maintaining health, safety and security at work place

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1

  • Certified training for Package Dyeing Machine Operator (programme aligned to TSC/Q5203 released by Textile Sector Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of various defects in the fabric due to yarn, weaving or processing
  • Skilled in handling reasons for various defects in the fabric due to processing and executing their remedies​​
  • In-depth knowledge of process and material flow in a processing unit
  • Knowledge of functioning of various controls of the machine
  • Knowledge of material handling and types of material handling equipment being used
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • Training in textile processing for 3-6 months
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good eyesight
