JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Mechanic (Electrical, Electronics/Instrumentation) is expected to perform include:

  • Supporting equipment operation​
  • Conducting inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical and related equipment, etc.
  • Providing guidance and on-the-job training to juniors

Working hours

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, ITI graduate/diploma in electrical/electronic/instrumentation
  • Certified training for Mechanic (Electrical, Electronic/Instrumentation) (programme aligned to IES/Q1105 job released by Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of techniques to rectify the fault in electrical/electronics/instrumentation of the infrastructure equipment
  • Knowledge of circuit diagrams
  • Skilled in using fault diagnostic equipment to investigate the problem
  • Knowledge of methods to maintain different types of batteries
  • Knowledge of repair and refitting techniques
