JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Merchandiser - Made-Ups & Home Furnishing is expected to perform include:

  • Developing and planning a merchandising plan for business development 
  • Planning and monitoring merchandising objectives 
  • ​Managing merchandising documents 
  • Communicating with the client for their requirement, order-taking and final delivery 
  • ​Planning for proper execution of plan​
  • Planning all the stages from booking to final shipment
  • Delivering the right merchandise at the right time and right place
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2
  • ​​​It is mostly a desk job
  • Need to handle a team of assistants and Merchandisers
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • ​Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

Working Hours 

  • ​Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, graduate
  • Certified training for Merchandiser - Made-Ups & Home Furnishing (programme aligned to AMH/Q0911 released by Apparel, Made–Ups and Home Furnishing)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • ​​​​Ability to develop and present merchandising plan for business development
  • ​Proficient in communicating with the client about design, budget, order, quantity, etc. 
  • Ability to manage the procurement of materials and record-keeping of the same 
  • ​Knowledge of how to manage merchandising documents 
  • ​​Ability to scrutinise the TNA and allocate resources accordingly
