JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Patter Master is expected to perform include:

  • ​​​Planning and preparing the process ​of pattern making ​as per techpack received 
  • Inspecting and validating​ the pattern 
  • Creating patterns with ordinary tools and material ​on non-textile substance (usually hard paper board)
  • ​​Maintaining the work area, tools and equipment ​
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2
  • It is a desk job
  • Need to handle a team of helpers, Assistant Pattern Makers and Pattern Makers
  • Local travelling is not a part of job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available​
Working hours 
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required​

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 12th
  • Certified training for Pattern Master (programme aligned to AMH/Q 1105  released by Apparel, Made–Ups and Home Furnishing)​​
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficient in planning and preparing the process of pattern making
  • ​Ability to review, inspect, validate and update a design 
  • Knowledge of creating patterns without ​using speciality design software like Auto CAD
  • Skilled in art and drawings 
  • Possess basic mathematical skills particularly making calculations and measuring
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good hand-eye co-ordination​
  • An eye for detail 
  • Ability to follow instructions​
  • Certificate/diploma in garmenting or textile​
