JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Hand Embroiderer (Addawala) is expected to perform include:
  • Creating design as per tracings (khaka) provided on to the fabric
  • Using variety of sewing techniques to create different embroidery stitches and effects such as cross stitch, French knot stitch, bullion ​knot stitch, shade work, sppliqué work, English smocking etc.​
  • Using decorative stones to fix for embellishments
  • Stitching variety of fat stitches, loop stitches and knotted stitches​

  • It is a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 5th
  • Certified training for Hand Embroiderer (Addawala) (programme aligned to AMH/Q 1010 released by Apparel, Made–Ups and Home Furnishing)​​
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of planning and organizing for process of hand embroidery (addawala​)
  • Knowledge of carrying out the process of embroidery as per customer requirement
  • Proficient in visualisation of the complete garment in context of embroidery​

  • Good hand-eye co-ordination
  • Ability to follow instructions
