JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Hand Embroiderer (Addawala) is expected to perform include:

Creating design as per tracings (khaka) provided on to the fabric
Using variety of sewing techniques to create different embroidery stitches and effects such as cross stitch, French knot stitch, bullion knot stitch, shade work, sppliqué work, English smocking etc.
Using decorative stones to fix for embellishments
Stitching variety of fat stitches, loop stitches and knotted stitches

WORK ENVIRONMENT ^{1, 2}

It is a desk job
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available
Work from home option may be available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Preferably, 5^th
Certified training for Hand Embroiderer (Addawala) (programme aligned to AMH/Q 1010 released by Apparel, Made–Ups and Home Furnishing)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of planning and organizing for process of hand embroidery (addawala)
Knowledge of carrying out the process of embroidery as per customer requirement
Proficient in visualisation of the complete garment in context of embroidery

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Able to work under high pressure
Good hand-eye co-ordination
Ability to follow instructions
Time management skills
