JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Paediatrician is expected to perform include:
  • Diagnosing and conducting treatment of diseases peculiar to children
  • Studying nature of growth and development of children and establishing form of growth
  • Investigating cause of deviations by examining behaviour pattern and conducting X-ray examination of growth of limbs and organs
  • Considering possible hazards to normal growth and suggesting preventive measures
  • Examining body, conducting clinical tests, histo-pathological examination and other necessary techniques of examination along with history of ailment and diagnosing disorder/defect
  • Prescribing and conducting treatment of patient, as required by ailment

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 1
  • It is a desk job
  • Need to handle a team of nurses and other medical staff
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available
  • Work from home option maybe available

 

Working hours

  • Hospitals/clinics usually work for 6/7 days a week and 9/10 hours every day. This may vary from hospital to hospital

  • Shift system maybe available

Minimum - MD (Paediatrics)

  • Knowledge of children’s nutrient requirements
  • Knowledge of preventive healthcare measures to be advised for children
  • Skilled in diagnosing problems peculiar to children
  • In-depth knowledge of child growth cycle
  • Ability to perform and interpret specialized tests and procedures
  • Competent in doing research in related field
  • Knowledge of medical practices
  • Keeping up-to-date with any advances in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
