JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks an Auto Service Technician Level 6 is expected to perform include:

  • Performing advanced diagnosis of the vehicle for both mechanical and electrical repair requirement
  • Carrying out advanced servicing, repairs and overhauling of a vehicle
  • Performing safety inspections of the equipment
  • Liaising with external automotive stakeholders
  • Planning and organizing work to meet expected outcomes
  • Maintaining workplace records and documentations
  • Supervising other Technicians/Senior Technicians
  • Maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2, 1
  •  It is not a desk job
  •  The candidate will supervise a team of Technicians and Senior Technicians
  •  Local travelling is not required
  •  Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  •  Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
  • Shift system is not available
  • Overtime may be required

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
  • Certified training for Auto Service Technician Level 6 (programme aligned to ASC/Q 1404 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Ability to manage advance diagnosis and repair
  • Ability to prepare vehicle records and report it both, manually and on a computer
  • Skilled in conducting post service inspection of the vehicle
  • Knowledge of how to prepare documentation regarding the order of supplies, parts fixed, etc.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license
