JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Draughtsman Architectural is expected to perform include:

• Preparing drawings of buildings, parks, gardens, monuments, etc. from sketches, designs or data for construction

• Drawing sketches of required construction according to directions of architect to suit purpose and environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT ²

• It is a desk job

• May need to handle a team

• Local travelling is a part of this job role

• Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available

• Work from home option is not available

Working hours

• Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week

• Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ³

Minimum – Diploma in Architecture

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

• Proficiency in studying notes, sketches and other engineering data of buildings, parks, gardens, monuments, etc. to be constructed

• Knowledge of preparing drawings of buildings, parks, gardens, monuments, etc. from sketches, designs or data for construction

• Well-versed with preparing models of construction work

• Knowledge of drawing to scale drawings according to approved sketches showing plan, elevations, settings, arrangements, etc.

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

• Ability to trace drawing and make blueprints

• Knowledge of preparing architectural designs, may prepare estimates and schedules for material and labour

• Ability to prepare perspectives designs and render them in colour of monochrome

• Knowledge of duties performed by civil draughtsman
