JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Casting Line Supervisor is expected to perform include:

  • Supervising the end-to-end process of the casting team
  • Ensuring the final product is as per the quality and production norms
  • Understanding, implementing and improving the process
  • Managing the operational productivity, manpower and material in the shift/line
  • Ensuring the deployment, motivation, skills improvement and overall management of the team
  • Creating and sustaining a safe, clean and friendly environmental at workplace
  • Maintaining the sorting, streamlining, storage, standardization and sustenance standards across the premises
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2, 3
  • It is not a desk job
  • Needs to handle a team of Casting Line Technicians and other Casting Line Assistants
  • Local travelling may be a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  •  Preferably, ITI in Mechanical
  •  Certified training for Casting Line Supervisor (programme aligned to ASC/Q 3206 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Ability to read and interpret drawing and sketches
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles of geometry, drawing, impact of physical parameters on properties of final output, metallurgical and chemical properties used, etc.
  • Knowledge of the different types of manufacturing processes and raw materials
  • Expertise in the mechanical laws and working of machines and measurement instruments
  • Ability to identify quality defects and take safety precautions for all activities
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and calculation methods, production and manufacturing-related processes and equipment
  • Ability to visualize the final product output
  • Understanding of performance, shift roster, grievance management and overall team dynamics

  • Training in latest casting techniques available in the market, 5S and safety aspects and quality management systems
  • Problem-solving techniques
  • Team management skills
  • IT and ERP awareness
