JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Decorator is expected to perform include:

• Creating artistic and ornamental designs in colour for interior and exterior decorations

• Creating original designs to satisfy client’s requirements and taste, etc. showing style, shape, size and other characteristics or products

• Arranging decorative material, furniture, wares, products, etc. in an artistic manner

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• It needs one to be on their toes

• May need to handle a team

• Local travelling is a part of this job role

• Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available

• Work from home option maybe available

Working hours

• Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from company to company

• Being self-employed is an option. In that case, working hours and days are flexible

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ²

Minimum – Bachelor of Architecture

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

• Proficiency in displaying and arranging wares, products, furniture, etc. in an attractive manner

• Knowledge of creating original designs to satisfy client’s requirements and taste, etc. showing style, shape, size and other characteristics or products

• Well-versed with arranging decorative material, furniture, wares, products, etc. in an artistic manner

• Proficiency in making sketches and diagrams or designs, keeping in mind the purpose, cost and preferences of client
