JOB DESCRIPTION 

The tasks aPolice Constable is expected to perform include:

  • Maintaining the law and order in his beat
  • Serving summons and warrants, arresting criminals,controllingtraffic and guarding treasures andimportant Government establishments and property
  • Familiarising himself with the area and persons living in hisbeat so as to watch suspicious characters anddisreputable establishments
  • Reporting to the senior/reporting officer(s) any unusual or unexplained events
  • Performing tasks such as serving summons and warrants
  • Assuming authority and directing traffic during emergencies or in case of an accident
  • Conducting investigation of petty cases and arresting criminals under warrant and keeping them into custody
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • It is field job

  • Local travelling is necessary
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Police stations usually work for 7 days a week and 24 hours everyday. This may vary from police station to police station

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 

Minimum – 12th pass

  • Proficient in properly conducting investigation of cases
  • Ability to safely escorts criminals to jail, court or in journey
  • Proficient in performing duties of armed guard, criminal investigation and traffic controllers
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations of the country
