JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Carpenter – System is expected to perform include:

Making shutters and assembling system formwork for R.C.C structures such as columns, beams, slabs, walls, foundations and other similar structures
Erecting and dismantling of temporary structures, making of moulds for the pouring of concrete, in order to create a solid, smooth finish

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

Working hours

Working hours are 8/9 hours a day for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from organization to organization

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Minimum – Equivalent to minimum 5th standard
Certified training for Carpenter - System (programme aligned to CON/Q0304 job released by Construction Skill Development Council)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of linear conversion of units
Basic knowledge of sketches/schematic working drawing relevant to making shutters, frames and moulds
Skilled in using measurement and marking tools
Skilled in handling hand/power tools and basic maintenance of tools

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Training for 8 to 12 weeks to qualify test & assessment by authorized agency for skills, knowledge & behaviour as per all relevant NOS for Carpenter Level-3
