JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a CNC Operator is expected to perform include:

  • Maintaining and operating the CNC machine
  • Monitoring gauges and dials
  • Programming and setting CNC machinery

  •  It is not a field job
  •  Need not handle a team
  •  Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  •  Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
  • Shift system may be applicable

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 8th
  • Certified training for CNC Operator (programme aligned to ASC/Q 1903 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficiency in planning machining work
  • Familiarity with studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, etc.
  • Familiarity with the understanding of drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts, etc.
  • Ability to co-ordinate with supervisors to ensure the settings of machines & programmes
  • Knowledge of taking measurements and marking dimensions or reference points on materials
  • Knowledge of  operating a forklift or lifting devices for the movement of a part
  • Skilled in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to stay abreast with the latest technological advancements
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • On-the-job training is desirable for ASDC ​CNC Operator certificate holder or holder of Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in any discipline
  • Good communication skills
  • Quality training
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a team
