JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Building Insulator, Machine is expected to perform include:

• Blowing and packing insulating material, such as mineral wool, shredded cork or asbestos with power-driven machine into cavities between walls, floors and ceilings in buildings

• Inserting hose nozzle into openings in floors, walls or ceilings

• Directing hose nozzle to distribute insulating material as specified

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• It needs one to be on their toes

• Need not a handle a team

• Local travelling is a part of this job role

• Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available

• Work from home option is not available

Working hours

• Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from company to company

• Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

• Proficiency in filling cavities between walls, floors and ceilings in buildings

• Knowledge of insulating material, such as mineral wool, shredded cork or asbestos

• Proficiency in getting blower started to release compressed air which blows insulation material through hose

• Knowledge of inserting hose nozzle into openings in floors, walls or ceilings

• Well-versed with carrying hose nozzle to working position

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of insulating open spaces, such as cupboards, walls or attic, roofs, etc. by nailing sheets of insulating material to studs or rafters
