Yes, you need to register again, but you can use your employment exchange registration number while registering on the portal in order to retrieve/restore your profile.
You could register online on the portal www.ncs.gov.in or visit the nearest Model Career Center or Common Service Center to get registered. You can also request the call center executive to register you by providing the required details.
Follow the steps below:
  • If the language is supported, then redirect to the right agent for support
  • Build the callers CV over phone
  • If the language is not supported, then state that we currently do not have support in that language and apologize for the inconvenience. Suggest to call back with someone to help who speaks a supported language
Anyone can seek services provided in the NCS portal through a simple registration process:
  • Age: 14 years and above
  • Qualification: There is no minimum qualification for registration
One must furnish basic details such as name, date of birth, qualifications, email id, phone number and unique identification document number such as Aadhaar Card number, PAN card number, Driver’s license number, Passport, NREGA card number Voters ID card number etc.
Follow the steps given below:
  • Ask how many attempts were made and note the error in the CRM
  • Notify Team Leader about the error
  • Offer help to the caller over phone and fill out the required details on behalf of the caller
OTP is One Time Password. It is a security code that you will receive on your mobile to validate that the entered mobile number is yours. You need to enter this code to complete the registration process.
Delays may occur due to traffic which we are addressing to improve our services. One can also click on ‘resend OTP’, to get an OTP second time in cases of delay in the first instance.
You will receive your NCS ID having 19 characters on your registered mobile number once your registration process is complete. Also, the same NCS ID will flash on the webpage once your registration process is complete. This will be a unique ID linked to your profile on NCS.
You have 9 attempts to guess the password before the profile gets locked for security reasons. In case, you don’t want to attempt at guessing the password, you can directly click on ‘Forgot Password?’ link in the login box and reset the password.

This will take you to web-pages where you will be required to give details about your personal information, physical attributes, address for communication, education and trainings undertaken, work experience, preferences and official references. Providing these detailed information will improve your profile and help employers in identifying the right candidates for their organization.
You can register with the mobile number of anyone in your family. Up to 5 users are allowed per mobile number.

NCS has partnered with various institutions and organizations operating in the space of offering employment and career-related services. These partners are aggregators and bring job opportunities on NCS portal for an enhanced job-search experience for the user. ‘Jobs by Partners’ can be identified by phrase “Powered By xxxx” in Company Name field. While ‘Jobs through NCS’ are those jobs which are directed posted on NCS portal by the employers.
When user clicks on the “Apply button” on any of the “Jobs by partners”, the jobseeker will be navigated to the partner’s website to complete the remaining process of job application w.r.t partner’s website.
The tab ‘Jobs Applied’ on the left panel of the screen will enlist all the jobs that the user has applied for, till date.
No, once registered, jobseekers will only receive notifications via SMS and emails about jobs postings, interviews schedules or events such as Job Fairs and alike. If you have applied for a job, and the employer selects your profile, you will get a notification of the scheduled interview in your profile. You can check these notifications under the tab ‘My Interviews’ on the left panel of your screen.
You will get sms alerts on the number with which you have registered on the portal. Contact us back and we will connect you with the employer.

No. You don’t need to pay for getting a job. In case, you are submitting the profile through a CSC (Common Service Center), in some states they charge a service fee. Please note that DGET or the portal doesn’t charge anything for any of its functionalities on the portal.
NCS Portal facilitates job seekers to search jobs that accommodate their disability type and job preferences.  The employers too can post job listings mentioning the type of PWD candidates that would best suit their job type. In addition, Jobseekers can also approach our Vocational Rehabilitation Centers (VRCs) for all career related guidance.

There is no minimum - maximum duration for finding a job. It depends on your profile and information you fill in and the job availability on the portal.

You can search for the scheduled job fairs by searching the events section and apply for the same.
Yes. A detailed list of career information covering all major sectors can be viewed on the NCS portal under ‘Career Information’ tab. You can also search for counsellors on the NCS Portal and fix an appointment based on the availability of slots. Alternatively, you can visit the Career Centers (CCs) in your respective state/city/town or call Toll free Call Center to know the available career counseling sessions near your location. To know the address of Career center near your area, you can visit our portal www.ncs.gov.in.
It depends. You can access the career information for free. However, some career guidance sessions / workshops organized by counsellors can be both paid or for free. We recommend you to check with the counselors before enrolment.
Once, you take an appointment you can view it in ‘My Appointments’ tab on the left panel. You can also cancel the appointments through this tab by giving a relevant reason for the same.
Once registered, you can view the list of skill providers based on geography or the areas of interest.

It is primarily engaged in online and offline registration of various stakeholders, organizing events such as job fairs and providing career counselling to job-seekers. Portal has been developed to make this whole process easy and available to everyone in each and every corner of the country.
Career Centre is a digitized version of employment exchange, with better infrastructure and linkages. Modern It infrastructure and appointment of Young Professionals make these centers different from employment exchanges.
Career center facilitates the registration process and also offer services such as career guidance, counselling and information on training facilities available. For any NCS-related query, one can visit the nearest career center for details.
Career Center facilitates as well as conducts job fairs. Information of job fairs which are conducted by career centers or any other organizations is available on the portal.
Yes, as a registered user of the portal, you can attend job fairs. You need to register for a job fair to participate in it. Only having a profile on the portal doesn’t automatically register you for a job fair. We recommend you to visit the portal frequently and check the job fairs under the tab named ‘Events’ on the left panel of the screen.
No, National Career Services is free of cost for jobseekers

Once the user’s credentials are verified, he/she will be able to manage the employer’s profile.
NCS portal offers three kinds of authorization roles to the users managing Employers profile, one is Owner, second is Admin and third is Member. You can assign these newly added user one of the above roles by clicking on ‘Manage Roles’ corresponding to the user’s name in the User Management display screen.

As per the current PO account approval policy, only ISF registered placement organizations are getting approved to undertake placement activities on NCS. This in no way means that you are mandatorily required to take ISF membership to be a part of NCS.DGE is working on evolving comprehensive guidelines for PO onboarding on NCS portal. Till the time, guidelines are finalized, you are requested to register as employer. Please remember to choose “Other service activities (including employment and placement agencies) as the sector while registering as an employer. No, once registered, NCS team will verify your credentials to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for counsellor empanelment with NCS portal.The approval of the profile of counsellors/VG Experts on NCS is subject to verifications of documents applicable as per the eligibility criteria along with submission of details required in Form NCS/PC-1 and NCS/PC-2 respectively. Counsellors/VG Experts are required to get the aforementioned document verification and submission done at the nearest employment exchange/career center /model career center, details of which can be found on NCS portal.
Upon registration, Counselors can avail a host of services such as register and update profile, personalized dashboard with all the appointments details, option to publish their availability calendar, online management of appointments and access to psychometric tests to assess the student’s/job seeker’s personality/aptitude/interest etc. Counsellor can also search and apply for jobs..
There are two kinds of empanelment i.e. empanelment of Counselors and empanelment of Vocational Guidance Expert on NCS portal.
Vocational Guidance Experts are those approved guidance/counselling experts on NCS platform, having quality counselling experience in their relevant fields like HR/Recruitment/Selection/Public Relation/Finance/Marketing etc.
The counsellors empaneling with the NCS need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
  1. The Counsellor should be working in one or more of the following areas:
    1. Career development and its coordination
    2. Employment services like staffing, placement, recruitment
    3. Providing specialized counselling in the relevant counselling setting.
  2. The Counsellor should have either of the essential qualifications and experience from three categories mentioned in below table to be eligible for empanelment with NCS.

  4. The counsellor must not have a criminal background or history of being disqualified from employment or affiliations due to disciplinary reasons.
A person may apply as VG Experts if he/she belongs to any one of the following categories:
  1. Retired Government/PSU officer (Group B officers and above) dealing with HR/Recruitment/Selection/Public Relation/Finance/Marketing/Administration/NGO
  2. Private Sector specialists working in HR/Recruitment/Selection/Public Relation/Finance/Marketing/Administration/NGO
  3. Existing Employment Officers in Employment Exchanges/VRC/CGC etc.
  4. Self-employed professionals like entrepreneurs, CA, doctors, architects etc.
  5. Individuals dealing with Overseas Placement/Employment/Studies Abroad

OTP is One Time Password. It is a security code that you will receive on your mobile to validate that the entered mobile number is yours. You need to enter this code to complete the registration process.

Upon marking leaves, booked appointments will cancel and an email will be sent to the clients/jobseekers who have booked your appointment via NCS portal

After selecting ‘Present’ you can click on ‘Assessment’ option to add ‘Add Availed Services’ and ‘Add Assessment’ with details such as assessment title, score and description. Career center acts a platform for providing all career-related services with availability right infrastructure and linkages available to perform counseling, events (job fairs, etc.). It is primarily engaged in online and offline registration of various stakeholders, organizing events such as job fairs and providing career counselling.
Career Centre is a digitized version of employment exchange, with better infrastructure and linkages. Modern IT infrastructure make these centers different from employment exchanges.
You can work closely with career centers and conduct career counselling events and participate in job fairs. You can use career center infrastructure to deliver counselling services by collaborating with concerned nodal officer. To get the address and contact details of the career center near your area, kindly visit the portal (www.ncs.gov.in) and click on Search tab and choose ‘Find Career Center’ to get all the required information.

Common Services Centers (CSCs) are a strategic cornerstone of the Digital India programme. They are the access points for delivery of various electronic services to villages in India, thereby contributing to a digitally and financially inclusive society. CSCs provide  services in the areas of  education, health, telemedicine by offering  web enabled services, including application forms, certificates, and utility payments such as electricity, telephone and water bill etc.

NCS has a tie-up with CSCs at Pan India level for delivering all portal related services  through these centers. NCS services such as registration of candidates and employers, matching and searching jobs, event information are accessible through this channel.Though NCS portal does not charge candidates or for any of its services,some nominal charges would be levied from the candidates (summarized in the table below) when the portal services are accessed through the CSCs.

CSC Connect is an interface available on NCS portal for CSC operators (called Village Level Entrepreneur or VLE) to login with their CSC ID and password. CSC operators can access NCS portal through CSC connect and provide NCS related services such as registration of candidates and employers, matching and searching jobs etc. to the  service seekers.
Information on number of users registered would be available only on aggregate (Pan India level) and not for any specific CSC since common user ID and password are being used by all the operators.
CSC operators can charge the candidates a nominal fee based on the agreed fee structure. Besides this, they would not get any extra benefit as part of  NCS tieup.

A job fair is an event where employers and job seekers come together for the purpose of applying and interviewing for jobs.  The career centers are responsible for creating & launching a job fair on ​National Career Service Portal​.​

 

On the home page of NCS, under the section-'Job Fairs and Events', all the past, on-going and future job fairs and events will be visible in the form of monthly calendar view. Each job fairs/events is separately identifiable with different colors (grey for past Job Fair, green for ongoing Job Fair and blue for Future Job Fair).​

Information of any job fair/event in the past or future can be viewed by navigating through the calendar using arrow marks, Left Arrowand​Right Arrow​​​​​​.​

On the Job Fair Calendar, user can use search functionality to find various job fairs and events. User can search on basis of State, District and Industry to display specific job fairs or events pertaining to the selected search criteria. User can select his search criteria from the drop down list for each criteria and click 'Search'.​​

  • At the bottom of the NCS home page, click on section 'Job Fair & Events'. The monthly calendar view of all the Job Fairs will be visible. This calendar shows the job fair and events conducted during that month across India.
  • Search for a relevant Job Fair/Event, identify & click on the job fair where you want to participate and then you will be directed to a pop-up with the details of the selected job fair.
  • Click on 'Participate' button and provide the NCS login credentials.
  • On successful login, employer will have to post jobs to job fair (refer to question 14) in order to participate in job fair.

Yes. The new employer will have to first register on the NCS portal and login through his new credentials to participate in the job fair. Already registered employers can use their existing NCS-IDs. Please refer S. No. 4 to know how to participate in a Job Fair after initial registration on NCS Portal.​​

The employer has to login to NCS Portal. After successful logging, on the left panel of home page, click on 'Job Fair Participation' option. On clicking, a list of all the job fairs in which he has participated is displayed. When he clicks on any of the job fairs, the complete details of job fair are visible and can be downloaded.​

The monthly calendar view displays all the Job Fairs & events which are past, on-going and future with checkboxes for each option. These options are already ticked by default. The user should keep only that option selected which he wants to view and unchecking the other two options. For example:

Employer selects the job fair from home page and clicks on participate.  After successful login, the link 'Add Jobs to Job Fair' is displayed on the home page. Once the employer clicks on this link, he will be provided the following two options:

  • Add newly created jobs to Job Fair(refer to question 15)

  • On clicking the link - 'Add Jobs to Job Fair', the user is provided with two options for adding new or already existing jobs in the job fair.

  • ​All the mandatory fields are required to be filled-in to post the job to the job fair.​​

  • On clicking the link - 'Add Jobs to Job Fair', the user is provided with two options for adding new or already existing jobs in the job fair.
  • Using the option- 'Add NCS jobs to Job Fair', an employer can add already existing NCS jobs to the job fair.
  • The already existing NCS jobs by the employer will be displayed in a table. The employer can select the required jobs from the table and click on 'Post to Job Fair'.
  • ​This will lead to addition of an active NCS jobs by the employer to the job fair.​
  • Employer has to navigate to the desired job fair, where list of all jobs he has posted to the job fair is displayed.
  • Select the job/jobs to be removed from job fair by clicking the corresponding checkbox and click on 'Remove jobs' button.
  • The identified jobs will then be removed from the job fair. These jobs can be added back to the job fair through the Add Jobs functionality.

A jobseeker needs to follow below mentioned steps:

  • Job seeker should select the job fair and click Participate.
  • After successful login, on the home page, the participating job seekers for the job fair are displayed under the heading–'Job Fair Details',
  • On clicking on the job seeker hyper link, list of all jobs posted by that job seeker for job fair will be displayed.
  • The job seeker can select the jobs to be added in his job bucket/preference list by clicking the '+' option in front of each job.
  • All selected jobs will be displayed in the job bucket with the job at the top of list indicating the first preference and the job at end of list indicating last preference.

In the job preference list, select the job to be removed and click on the 'X' button. This will remove the job from preference list of job fair.

Job seeker should navigate to the job fair details page for the desired job fair. Job seeker can change his preference for any job by selecting the job from his job bucket/preference list and clicking on the 'up' and 'down' arrow buttons to move the job up or down the preference list.
